Man v Mountain

My final challenge event was cancelled the year before but thankfully it was rescheduled for the following September. Even though we had still gone & ran our own Snowdon Man V challenge the year before we still went to complete the full Man V series & take the much needed & missing trilogy medal.

We went back to Wales and ran up Snowdon via a totally different route to the one we had created on our own a year earlier. Snowdon was a beast to run and climb up with poor conditions along the way. The run had a very monotonous gradual incline that seemed to last an age before we even hit the Ranger trail to make our assent to the summit. The weather was bad at the top with poor visibility of what are breath-taking views, so we didn’t hang around & set off back down the Llanberis trail as quick as we could. Once we got back down to the bottom in all fairness the run should have been enough & done but in true Ratrace style they then take you on a brutal 2km incline climb around the surrounding slate mines with many more miles to complete the challenge. Not one of my favourites but still a solid event where we ran 24 miles and climbed 5500ft of elevation.
